Embace Each and Every Moment

Here's a great image from Simply Betty Stamps.  I just love how she took this image of a teen and she's holding that doll (by the neck even).  But deep down, you know she's just snuggling that dolly.  (Also LOVE that hairband, I will say the last time I went to a convention, I actually bought myself a hairband that has a SKULL on it!!, it's flat like the one in the photo with silver studs all over it. TOO CUTE).

Hope your post Thanksgiving Weekend is going well.  I must say I haven't been out of the house at all those crazy sales.  Yeah, not me....at best I might look at the paper or go online, but that's about as inspired as I get.

Project Materials: Cardstock(Bazzill, Neenah); Image (Simply Betty); Sentiment (Cosmo Crickett); Diecut (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Punch (Martha Stewart); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all);  Color (Copic Markers);

Queen of hearts

Hi everyone! I am sharing a card today from Sweet Pea artist Rachel Anderson.  I am using a beautiful image she created named Queen Of Hearts.  This image is available as a digi-stamp or as a rubber stamp (plate #201).  I am using a red card here, that is quite large, I ran the front of the card through my machine to emboss it and then added a sheet behind it to give it a double layer.

Here's a close-up of the stamped image, it's so very delicate and detailed, like all of Rachel Anderson's images

I hope you have been enjoying all the wonderful cards this week using this artist's images, be sure and check them all out at the Sweet Pea store.

Cheers, Holley

Happy Thanksgiving

Well, Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I know this doesn't seem like a thanksgiving card, but now that it's here, I figure I will go ahead with the Christmas cards.  I have already shown some Christmas cards, but I have also be showing lots of wonderful fall and thanksgiving cards too.  This fun image comes from Kathy Cyr and is called Sledding.  So adorable. I decided to color her up in blue and make a blue card to match.
The card is meant to stand up on the desk and will fit perfectly in a 5.5 in envelope.  Can't you just imagine this pair out and about handing out Christmas cheer to everyone?

Project  materials:  Cardstock (DCWV, Neenah, Paper Connection); Stamp (Queen Kat); Ink (Memento, Colorbox Chalk); Diecuts (Lifestyles, Memory Box); Bling (Michaels, Sticko); Adhesives (pop dot, glue all); Color (Copic Markers);

You're gonna shine!

Here's a great image from Kenny K today.  I am loving this fun image.  You're gonna shine.  I wish it was a bit warmer here and I could dress up just like her...well, perhaps not in a skirt that short!  Though, I would wear socks that long...maybe even longer, I like them a bit above my knee to keep my knees warm too!

Hope everyone is getting ready for a wonderful thanksgiving holiday.  Have a great time!

Cheers, Holley

Flip Its card

 So, have you seen those cards that flip open to show you an additional image when you open the card?  They are called Flip-Its and there are several die cutters from Sizzix that cut these cards out for you (also in conjunction with a company owned by Stephanie Barnard whose class I took at the last Scrapbook Convention).  You don't have to have the matching stamps or die cutters from the Stamps of Life Company by Stephanie Barnard, but I did adore making some Flip Its cards.  So when I saw a die cut machine go on sale, I had to get one, primarily so I could make these cards as well as use several other dies that are wider than 5".

Here's the card I did from the front, flat view.  It will fit perfect in those 5.5" envelopes.

Then when you pop it open, here's the "inside of the card"
You could also write you sentiment here, but for this card, I chose to write the sentiment on the backside of the card.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress Flame Mica, Bazzill); Stamp (CC Designs);  Die Cuts (Flip Its Square Sizzix Bigz;  Spellbinders Nestabilities;  Border Sizzix);  Color (Copic markers); Stickers (Adorn It); Buttons (JoAnns); Twine (Doodlebug); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue dots);

Smokin' Hot

Here's a great image from The Stampin' Chef, she's just smoking hot.  I think it is the thigh high stockings that I like.  Hmmmm, if only they were socks.  I definitely prefer to wear thigh high socks, as they keep my legs warm.  Figured my hubby would like this card, yep, he's the one for me.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill Swiss, Neenah, AC);  Stamps (Stamping Chef;  sentiment--unknown perhaps CC);  Ink (Colorbox Chalk);  Bling (Hobby Lobby); Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities);  Color (Copic markers);  Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue dots);

Dream a little dream

Hi everyone!  Happy Thursday. I am excited to be showing a brand new stamp today from Queen Kat. This fun image is from artist Maigan Lynn and is called Dream a Little Dream.  Isn't she gorgeous?  I love this stamp.  Her images are well know with their big eyelashes and she also has a bunch of wonderful mermaids.

I added a T.S. Eliot sentiment to this card "Love is most nearly itself when here and now crease to matter."  I can imagine a lover looking into this maiden's eyes and thinking of nothing more than her.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill Bling, AC, Neenah);  Image (Queen Kat); Sentiment (KI); Stickers (Doodlebug);  Flowers (Prima); Brads (Bo Bunny); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue dots, Glue all);  Colors (Copic Markers); Ink (Colorbok Chalk);

Happy Fall

Here's a great new image from artist Sandra Caldwell.  She sells digi stamps at her site Babycakes Doodle This and That as well as her Esty stamp site (CLICK HERE).  This cutie is called Thanksgiving Pumpkin.  I used some wonderful papers from Paper Temptress here.

The card base is a shimmery mica cardstock called Flame.  The black borders are textured paper called Black Felt Grandee.  The white paper that I printed out the image one is Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.  I used that because it runs through my printer great for digital stamps.  The red paper is also a beautiful specialty paper, it's hard to tell on the card, but it has flecks of golden shimmer in it as well, it's called Vermillion Sparkle.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress); Image (Sandra Caldwell); Ink (Colorbox Chalk); DieCut (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Embossing (Sizzix); Punch(Martha Stewart); Sentiment (OTC); Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All, Glue dots);

Christmas Cute!

Here's an adorable Christmas theme image from Scrapbook Stamp Society artist Sherri Baldy.  This cutie is my card for the challenge this week which is to use only black, white with one other color.  I am using predominately white, with some shading (I.e. the black/grey tones) and then red.  I think this adorable image was just perfect for that.  I have a wonderful full sized die cut that I cut multiple times back to back and placed on the card, for a white on white tone, it really gives a snow flake background vibe and then I added a few snowflake buttons.

Mane Event

Sharing this gorgeous stamp from The Stamping Chef, she's called the Mane Event. Gotta love all that hair. I guess I had hair that used to be almost that long before.  When I was a kid and later when I grown up just prior to getting brain surgery.  They were able to cut it off for donation.

That gorgeous ribbon is some that I got in Istanbul at the markets, they had ribbons and lace stores in a district where that's what every store sold!  Can you imagine that?!? store after store of ribbons and laces?  Oh, crafter's heaven.  They also had a lot of beading stores.  Lucky they didn't have stamping stores too or I would have gone broke!

Dia De Los Muerotos

So Dia De Los Muertos, Day of the Dead, is Friday, Nov 1st often also celebrated through to Saturday Nov 2nd. It is a holiday of celebration of those who have passed away.  It is widely celebrated in Mexico and in areas of South TX where I grew up.  It is not a somber occasion but a happy occasion to have memories and people set up shrines for their loved ones or take items to the graves of their loved ones.   We have a brand new artist at Sweet Pea Stamps, Helena Reis, here's one of the brand new stamps, Dia De Los Muertos.
Here's a close up of the image I used for this card. I layered it on some black polka dot paper with some Turkish lace, stitched ribbon and a cute skull brad.
Hope you have a Happy Dia De Los Muertos or All Saints Day!

Cheers, Holley
