Grizzly Bear

Welcome November!  Can you believe it is already here?  I know I can't!  A new month means that it is time for a brand new contest over at the Your Scrapbook Place Challenge blog.  The theme this month is Anything Goes and you will get an extra entry if you use a stamp from our wonderful sponsor--Make it Crafty!!  Woo hoo! This adorable bear image I have is called Grizzly Bear.  Too cute!

Check out our contest and then share some creations with us this month.  Each month you can join up to three times to be in our drawing for the prize.  We can't wait to see what you create.

Cheers, Holley

You are amazing

Here's a great image from Make it Crafty, I love the boots she has, I always wished when I was little that I would be a tall girl.  I guess that is why I date super tall men.  My husband is about a foot taller than me.

Hope you are having a great week, I can't believe we are at the end of May!  Where has this month gone?  I am about three weeks from VBS and spending every evening now making die cuts and such for the kids.  I have to do about 150 little spellbinder trees, I find I can get about 20 done per evening.  They take quite a bit of time.  Then I will cut out cute circles to go behind them as the "leaves".  Will definitely share a pic so you can see what the kids will make when I get done.

Cheers, Holley

Sweet Heart

Here's a gorgeous image from Make It Crafty.  As Feb comes around, I will get to make lots of love theme cards.  You know how much I like making those!!  This girl is just too sweet.  I used copic markers to give her beautiful blond hair and added some sparkle from Doodlebug.

I hope you are having a wonderful 2015 so far and getting back to your routine now that we are well into the first week.  It's still cold here in TX, well, what we consider cold (anything less than 50 Deg F).  So I promised to start showing some blog candy photos...HERE's just the FIRST batch.....
some die cutters and embossers...way more photos to come including LOTS and LOTS of stamps, embellishments, papers, you name it!  Be sure and mark your calendars for Feb, there will be blog candy fun everyday!

Are you ready yet?  just wait until you see more......

I Believe in Miracles

Here's a beautiful image from Make It Crafty with gorgeous papers from Paper Temptress.  I added a simple sentiment "I believe in miracles simply because I exist."  I am sure many of you are aware of this because of my brain surgeries in 2010, I feel incredibly blessed to be here!  This Feb will be 5 years!  There's going to be a totally awesome celebration, so keep your eyes peeled!!  Blog candy announcements will start early in January with photos and news.

This fun card is using lovely paper from Paper Temptress. The card base is gorgeous paper bag that has been embossed and brushed with white ink.  To add some flair to the edge, I used a piece of mica called Kunzite.  I printed out my image on Neenah Solar White Classic Crest paper and colored the image with Copic markers.  I die cut it with Spellbinders Nestabilities and then layered it with Hambly Overlays. I totally recommend the Hambly Overlays Mini Packs, this sheet comes from Pack #1, you get a bunch of 6x6" overlays that you can use on all your card creations!

So check out all the awesome papers from Paper Temptress and believe in miracles, they really do come true.  I wish I could go back in time and tell that little third grade child (that's the earliest I can remember actually praying to God about my health, without even knowing that my problem was in my brain) that God did hear me and he would answer my prayers.  Took time and technology to advance to point where doctors could really help me.

Hugs everyone!

Beautiful You

Here's a stunning image from Make it Crafty. I just love their gorgeous stamps.  I stumbled on their website a while back and had to get a handful of their images.  I am making this card in green, which is unusual for me, but I think I am getting better at using other colors on occasion.....

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Bazzill Swiss, Neenah); Image (Make It Crafty); Die Cuts (LifeStyles, Memory Box); Ribbon (Michaels); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue all, Glue dots);  Color (Copic Makers);

Here's a gorgeous image from Make it Crafty named Elven Samenah.  What a beautiful image.  I just had to get this stamp!  I colored her up and put her on this card to share today, don't you like her?  They have the most lovely lady images.

You Give me Butterflies

Here's a gorgeous image from Make it Crafty combined with some lovely papers from Paper Temptress to create today's card.  This pretty image is named Elisabeth.  I am also using a butterfly and a you give me Butterflies sentiment from Unity Stamps.  All the papers today are Paper Temptress.
The featured stamp is a digi-stamp, so it was printed out on my computer.  For digi-stamps, I like to use 80lb paper, as it runs through my printer my easier. I color with Copic markers, so I find that Neenah Solar White is a good paper which both runs through my printer and colors well.  The base of this cards is a gorgeous mica cardstock that shimmers.  It's called Flame, I stamped right on it in chalk ink.  The red cardstock also has flecks of mica in it, it's Vermillion Sparkle.  The black cardstock has a very heavy texture to it, which I showed by adding some white ink to the edges, it's called Black Felt Grandee.    You can't tell from the image, but the reason that the "You give me Butterflies" quote lies on top of the cardstocks and the butterfly stamp is because it was placed there by stamping it onto a clear transparency!! Doesn't it look like the image is just floating there?

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress); Images (Make it Crafty; Unity Stamps); Ink (Colorbox Chalk);  Die Cuts (Spellbinders Nestabilities); Butterfly (Michaels);  Color (Copic Markers); Adhesives (pop dots, glue dots, glue all);

Anatasia

Here's a lovely lady card using a digital stamp from Make It Crafty named Anatasia and stunning shimmery papers from Paper Temptress.  I chose to go with pink and oranges for summertime when I colored up this image using Copic Markers so I wanted to pick the most beautiful papers to go with her.

I chose the base of the card to be a heavy mica cardstock in pink that's called Azalea.  The colored border and diecut corners that I am using are also a wonderful shimmer paper that's printed in an orange and yellow pattern.  This paper is from Hambly Studio Screenprints.  It's called Retro Rectangles.  Though you can't really tell the design here, it gives a wonderful bright pop of orange and yellow color.  If you are like me and do a lot of cards, esp staying at the 6x6" size and smaller, a great set is the 6x6" precut pieces which give a bigger variety of the papers already cut down (click here).  The white cardstock here is Neenah Solar White Classic Crest.  I chose that for this image because I was running it through my printer for printing, the Neenah cardstock runs through the printer easily and colors with Copics great.

Project Materials:  Cardstock (Paper Temptress);  Image (Make it Crafty); DieCuts (Spellbinders, Memory Box); Punch (Martha Stewart); Adhesives (Pop dots, Glue All); Color (Copic Markers); Ink Pad (Colorbox Chalk);
