Choose what brings you joy

Choose what brings you joy!  I hope that you are able to do that. I am so thankful that I am.  I was given a wonderful second chance at life.  I was able to stop being an electrical engineer and now I work with special needs kids at the local elementary school.  I realize not everyone can do that.  It's about a 2/3 pay cut, but fortunately my DH was supportive.  Kuddos to him.
This wonderful stamp is from Coco Palm Studio on Etsy, they have a Facebook page you can check out, Cocopalmstudio as well as in Instagram @cocopalmstudio
Question of the day:  Speaking of joyful events, which holidays are your favorite?  do you make cards for them?  Christmas, Halloween, Easter? do you have a wedding or child birth coming? do you like stamps for baby theme?  how about wine? religious?  I may have that unusual stamp topic you want lol!!

I made a lot more Christmas cards this year than usual, I always make a bunch of fun Halloween cards and a few Thanksgiving theme cards (I just love pumpkins and Scarecrows).  I will do Valentines as you have seen, but only a few of the others.  I don't have any unusual theme cards coming up.  I have a bunch of adorable Unity stamp wine theme stamps to give away....

Have you checked the winner list today?  click here  There's a bunch of unclaimed prizes!!

Did you sign up on the previous days?  Be sure to leave a comment on the 1st, winners are chosen from that day each day of the month.  No winners have been chosen from Feb 16th-20th yet

What a beautiful card and sentiment! Christmas and Easter are my fave holidays. Yes, I make cards for them. I do have a wedding coming up. My grandson is getting married in August. :) I do have a relationship with Jesus Christ. :)

A gorgeous card, love the sentiment and bling. I like to make Christmas cards because it means I can be in touch with people far away, and those I've not perhaps spoken to all year xx

Cute card. Congrats on being able to pursue your dream. I went from working in a lab to Norway where I grow vegetables, keep rabbits and chickens and craft. Life is good. Money isn't everything. It's important to be happy. I love halloween, made all my own xmas cards last year and don't have so much wedding or baby stash. I love animals, especially unusual ones and llamas/alpacas are so cool. Hugz

Love those laces. Chinese New Year is my favorite with two week of celebrations. Stamps for wine sound interesting.

Love the card. Christmas is my main cardmaking holiday, though I enjoy creating them for others, with one exception: Halloween

Beautiful card - the colors, embellishments, and image are perfect together! I LOVE the sentiment- Choose Joy is my motto! I’m so glad you were able to follow your passion. The kiddos are lucky to have you.

I make cards for every holiday and birthdays. I’ve been sending friend or “just because”cards more frequently and unfortunately, have needed more sympathy cards than usual.

Such a pretty card - and, as usual, love the turkish lace! I love seeing the variety of laces and also love hearing about your experiences. Such a nice, personal touch when you share your storeis. Kudos to you for having such an amazing hubby! I love Halloween and Christmas and make cards for both. I also really enjoy making pet themed cards, wedding cards and baby cards.

Fab image and great card Holley.

I make a lot of Christmas cards every year, but none for hallween, rarely make an Easter card, never thanksgiving. As I ake cards to sell in the chapel where a good portion of the money goes to the Sunday School I do like religious images duch as nativity for Christmas or crosses for sympathy, but no wording.

oooh love this stamp. I haven't heard of that company before. I tend to scrapbook more than make cards now, so I like religious stamps, word stamps. Any occasion, and I love to Bible Journal for the past couple of years. My card making has been strictly for my mom in the last couple years. She loves to receive hand made cards, and keeps every one of them.

I design my own Christmas card as I am an artiest. The last couple of years I've been doing snow scenes from our National Parks. Love Halloween and especially pumpkins. Currently I am working on Easter theme and am making bunnies and Easter eggs embellishments. Would you like me to send you some. I've been making a lot of them using up my scraps.
I don't have wedding or child births now in my family. Not much on wine or religious themes.
Hope that answers all your questions.
Have a great day.

I really like the colors in this card. No wine for me. I make cards for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, and I did make some Valentine's this year. I especially like nativity stamps and dies. I am a Christian. We do know a young couple who are expecting a baby and I enjoy making baby cards and scrapbook pages.

Love this card, great image and sentiment!!

I make birthday cards, Christmas cards, a few Halloween ( just because I love Halloween, never send them out to friends here, only to USA if I don't forget), and wine cards for my sister, just a little joke between the 2 of us, :D

Such a fun card, gorgeous lace and pretty sparkle! I make Christmas cards but rarely do other holidays. Lately I have been on the hunt for stamps for baby cards and welcome to your new home cards.

Love that lady in red, Holley! When it comes to holidays, I am like you in that I am the mistress of the dark, the bony and the sexy. Halloween is my ultimate favorite season. I love to decorate, make cards and create a few mixed media/assemblage pieces to add to my growing collection.
Christmas is #2, and I can always always use birthday anything. The men in my life are gone, so father's Day, Anniversary and Valentine's Days are out.

Super card Holley - we are fortunate to be able to do what we love with the support of our families. I don't use alcohol on my projects other than pens - haha! I craft for most of the holidays certainly Christmas, Valentines, Halloween (I have limited supplies for this), Mother's and Father's Day and make new baby, teacher, wedding and birthday cards often. Cute card! I love Halloween and Christmas cards. I sent over 150 Christmas cards this year. I participate in an ATC swap called the Halloween Broom Ride. I can't find that many wine stamps, but I don't search for them.

How wonderful that you are able to share your talents for education, and making a contribution in such a direct way. I love making cards for Christmas, Valentines, Halloween, and birthdays. Don't make cards for St. Paddy's Day, or Mothers and Fathers day as my parents are both gone. I don't use any religious themes but I like cute Easter images and designs. Always up for fun animal stamps, especially cats and dogs!

Love this sassy stamp!
You are an amazing woman! Working with special needs children is a hard, enriching, stressful and challenging job and anyone who can do it deserves a special place in Heaven! For all the hard parts of the job there are also so many wonderful things about it. Watching a special needs child master something and knowing you had a part in that victory is so rewarding and heartwarming! I am so glad your husband supports you!
I make Christmas, Birthday, Sympathy, Thinking of You, Baby Shower, Wedding, Bridal Shower, Friendship, Valentines, Easter, Back to School and all other types of cards. My favorite ones are Just Because for the simple reason that they are always a surprise when they arrive and you get to choose what, if any, reason you sent it!
I am always looking for wine/beer themed stamps and dies. I would love a set of word stamps that can be combined to make some sassy sayings. Sorry, NOT Sorry!, Sorry You are Getting Older, Older isn’t better, It’s the BEST! Just a few ideas of words to combine to make your perfect sentiments Realistic race cars like stock cars,, maybe a racetrack with cars, flags and trophies to make racing scenes. A smaller set for cards and a bigger set for canvases or mixed media projects! A small set of numbers so the cars can be numbered included in the racing sets! Thanks for asking such great questions! You are taking my mind off my issues and I really appreciate that!

I really love this card, I am realizing that I love your people stamps. They are so expressive. For you question- I really like adorable babies and maybe stamps to do with pregnancy. I have nieces that just got married and it would be awesome to have those stamps ready to go! I love that you work with youth. I enjoy promoting the value of art for kids through our school district. These kids are our future and I also have a dream of stamping with seniors ( I am almost there!).

Wow, this is another amazing and beautiful card Holley. Love that you are so talented and giving and I'm happy to know that you're doing what you love.
I like making Christmas, birthday, Just Because, Easter, Valentine,Halloween, and Thank you cards. I like to make cards that are humorous, and I love animals, food themes, and fun themes like circus or carnival.

No specific occasions coming up, but I don't have many stamps or dies for men and boys.

Once upon a time I had a young man serenade me with the Chris de Burgh song "Lady in Red". It was late at night and he was quite drunk but he insisted I stand there in my red coat while he sang to me!!! Quite a crowd gathered and they all applauded afterwards. He just took a bow and wandered off into the night ....
Thank you for reminding me of a happy memory.

Love the red bling on that sexy lady card! I do make Halloween cards, not really any other holiday cards. I send cards for no reason, lol. I particularly enjoy the odd images, crystal balls, psychic, mermaids, freaky people and things, birds. I do not make baby cards or wedding cards.

A lovely card. I enjoy making thank you cards instead of holiday cards.

Most of the cards that I make are for Christmas, birthdays, get well and sympathy. I make a few cards for Halloween and Easter, but most of mine are Thinking of You etc. I don't make wedding or baby cards and don't have any unusual occasions coming up.
I always love seeing how well you color your images Holley, as I'm not very good at it myself. I love nature themes and animals and wouldn't mind a wine theme once in awhile.

I do love making Christmas and Halloween cards! Those are my favorite holidays to make cards for. Maybe a little Easter and Valentines too. Fall is my favorite season as I love the colors and the leaves. I do like wine theme too love Unity stamps. I just bought a wine glass die from MFT to make some fun shaker cards. I figured I could use it with some cute confetti shapes and sequins for any holiday or event!

Great card. I like Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day and Halloween. I usually make at least a couple cards for most holidays, but make quite a few for Christmas. I have a few weddings coming up and there are always babies on the way.

Beautiful card! I make tons of Christmas cards. I usually start around the beginning of May. I personalize each family card and also some for close friends. I wasn't familiar with Coco Palm so I was pleased to find a Coco Doll perfect for one of my nieces. I do birthdays, weddings, babies, graduations, new house, and almost every other special event you can think of. Recently I've had several retirements. I do other holidays when the mood hits me. I'm working on some St. Pat's cards for the family children--should be a huge surprise for them all.

Scrumptious lace! I love things that bring me joy!

Wine theme stamps could be fun!

Twylia said...

Your coloring is so good on your card! I make a lot of Christmas Cards; birthday cards through out the year for family; Valentine cards; retirement cards; anniversary cards--my in-laws just celebrated their 60th!; Easter cards; wedding cards; sympathy cards; and I'll be making a card shortly to welcome our first grand-child! So baby cards and children's birthday cards are in my future! I don't like wine stamps; but I do like the religious ones especially when they have scripture verses. Encouragement cards are ones I have begun to make as well as some Graduation cards!

Linda Dicks said...
