It's a Bird, It's a Plane....it's SUPER STAMPER!!!

It's a Bird, It's a Plane....no, it's SUPER STAMPER!!! This stamp is actually called Super Mom by Doodle Factory, but she looks more like Super Stamper to me.

I just got these wonderful stamps from Starving Artistamps recently. I like this super hero lady.
She's flying off to bring stamping all over the world!

Project Materials:
Cardstock (Bazzill, DCWV); Stamp (DoodleFactory); Text (printed on PC); Color (Derwent Inktense); Flowers (Prima); Embellishments (Skittles, 3d pop dots)

Gorjuss Friend

"A Friend is a gift you give yourself." How true is that? Well I hope you all think of me as your friend because I post these creations just for y'all to enjoy. Hugs!

Here's another of the cute Gorjuss Girl designs by Suzanne Woolcott. I love her big puffy dress. I decided to try a color combo that I don't usually use--purple and green. I am very much a warm color person (browns, yellows, oranges), so it is a conscious decision when I make a card in a different palette.

Don't forget to vote for the card of the week! Today's the last day for voting. The poll is in the column on the right hand side.

Project Materials:Card (Bazzill); Printed Paper (DCWV), Stamp (Gorjuss Girl-Sugar Nellie); Flowers (Prima); Flower Brad (Doodlebug); Saying (Rubon-Provocraft); Colors (Derwent); Decor (Ribbon; skittles)

Have a Sunshiney Day

Miss Tilda is holding a cupcake just for you! I hope you like it. She's wishing everyone a shunshiney day today.

We have been very fortunate to have some cloud cover recently that brought our temps from 105 down to 95; Funny when you go outside at 95 degrees and think it's cooler. But the clouds were great and we managed just a little rain too!

Project Materials:
Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamps (Tilda-Magnolia Rubber Stamps; Saying-Stamping Bella); Butterfly buttons (Doodlebug); Wire (WT); Flowers (Prima); Bling (MAMBI); Ink (image-Versafine; saying-Vivid!; edging-Colorbox Chalk); Color (Derwent Inktense, Copic Marker)

Hug Me!!!

Here's one of the DoodleFactory stamps that I got today. His name is Tobias. I think he's so cute and I can certainly relate to that look. Don't we all have days like that sometimes?

I paired him with a cute vellum sentiment that says HUG ME! Wouldn't it be nice if people would just give us a hug sometimes? Next time you see someone with this look, go give them a hug!

Project Materials:
Cardstock (DCWV), Printed Papers (unknown); Stamp (Tobias-DoodleFactory); Color (Derwent Inktense);

Good news!

Just got a notice from Sweet Pea stamps that I will be on their new design team! I can't wait to get my stamps and start making some fun stuff. I love their new Gum Drop Gang and the cute Sweet Pea Pals. Watch for these on my blog.

Also--my package from Starving Artistamps is here!! WooHOO. The Doodle Factory stuff is so cute. I am going to go stamp some up right now. Keep your eye on the blog tonight and hopefully a new card will appear featuring one of these cuties.

Have a Honey of a Day!

Here's an adorable bear stamp from Penny Black. He's so sweet huh? I paired him with a cute saying from Stampin' up and some bee decor from Stampassions.

Since I have a sister named Honey, sayings like this always have a double meaning in our household.

Project Materials: Cardstock (card-Bazzill; Other-DCWV); Stamps (Bear-Penny Black; Saying-Stampin' Up; other-Stampassions); Flowers-(Prima); Brads (large-Basic Grey; other- Bo Bunny); Ink (Bear-Versafine; Bees-Versamark; Saying-Vivid!); Coloring (Derwent Inktense pencils, Blender- Stampin' Up);

I give a hoot!

Here's another example of a cute but very simple flat card. Seems like the post office is getting pickier about embellishments on the cards. This challenges me to make sweet cards that are very flat that I can mail out.

So, what do you give a hoot about? I give a hoot about a lot of things including stamping!! Other things I give a Hoot about: my husband, my family, my church, my online stamping buddies, my neighbors....how about you?

Project Materials:Paper (DCWV); Borders (Doodlebug); Stamp (Hero Arts; saying-TAC); Color (Derwent Inktense);

All Things are possible

I love the saying on this card. It reminds me that things are never hopeless. It's easy to get bogged down in this world and feel that way sometimes, huh? I really like this angel design from CC Designs. She came in a set with all her heavenly friends.

Hope you are having a great day today! Tonight I am off to a concert with my DH, but today I am gonna sit down and do some crafting. Sounds like a great day is ahead.

Project Materials:
Cardstock (card-unknown, other-Bazzill); Flowers (Prima); Stamp (CC Designs); Color (Derwent Inktense/Stampin Up); Sewn Background (Linda Weber); Saying (Sticker-Flair Designs); Bling (MAMBI)

Gothic Girl

Here's Sugar Nellie's Little Goth Girl from the Gorjuss Girls collection. The Prima flowers are priceless, can you believe they have flowers with skulls on them? they are actually so cute since they match the hair pin of the girl.

Got lots of great things done today including stopping by the University art store to pick up a couple more Inktense pencils. I got Chili Red, Ionian Green, Peacock blue, Red Violet and Baked Earth. They are all nice earthy tones that go together well and will also compliment the colors I already have. Generally when buying pencils in the beginning, I like to get two complimentary shades, i.e. two shades of red, two shades of blue....and so forth. That allows one shade for coloring and at least one color for shading. I often use more than one color when shading an image, but when starting to build up supplies I get two of any particular color.

Project Materials:
Cardstock: Bazzill; Stamp: Gorjuss Girls-Sugar Nellie; Flowers: Prima; Brads-Making Memories; Color: Derwent Inktense; Copic Marker: E00;

P.S. don't forget to vote for your favorite card of the week in the column to the right!!

A Smile that bursts

A Laugh is a smile that Bursts. That's the sentiment on this Stamping Bella card.

The new week is here! I hope your weekend was great. I have started a new poll on the right hand column to pick a card of the week for last week. I hope you will take a second and vote for your favorite card. The voting helps me narrow down the topics and styles that people want to see. Please go and vote for your favorite. I have also added sentiment under each card. You don't have to add comments to select how you feel about the card, but your comments are welcome.

Project Materials:
Cardstock (Bazzill); Sewn Background (Linda Weber); Stamp (Stamping Bella); Coloring (Derwent Inktense/Stampin' Up Crayons); Soft Charm (Around the Block); Ribbon (Fire Mountain); Corner Rounder (Creative Memories)

There will be a few other things (what's blog candy with out a surprize in the box)!!

She's a Star!

Here's my little star! She's one of the new Gorjuss girl stamps from set 3. She's holding a star of her own with adorable little star shaped barrettes.

I love the contrast of the blue and yellow in this card. I think the partial blue background makes the blue coloring in the dress stand out. I don't have a large star die cut, in this case I simply used a pen to lightly draw a star on the back of a piece of cardstock and then cut it out. Flipped it over and glued it to the card. I used a souffle pen to outline the star and the remnants from the cutout to give the edges some interest. This is another example of a very flat card that would get past the post office without complaints.

Project Materials:
Card (Bazzill); Carstock (DCWV); Stamps (Gorjuss Girl-Sugar Nellie; Saying-Hero Arts); Ink (Versafine); Color (Derwent, Crayola watercolor pencils); Souffle White pen; Copic Marker E00

Just Being Myself

This pretty girl is wading in a pool of cool water. Ahhh, wish I had a pool to wade into right now. We are approaching 17 days of 100+ degree weather here in Austin. It has been an unseasonable hot summer this year with a notable lack of rain.

For now I guess I will settle for staying in my nice cool house. I am posting this project a little early today as I have been having tons of headaches and need to lay down. If I wake up feeling better you might get a bonus project today. Check the blog again later :)

Project Materials:
Cardstock (Bazzill); Flowers (Prima); Skittles (hand dyed); Stamp (Gorjuss Girl - Sugar Nellie); Colors (Derwent); Ink (Versafine); Plastic saying w/Glitter (K & CO)

MissMatch KETTO

Here's a vision in green featuring MissMatch KETTO from Stamping Bella. It uses 2 colors of green cardstock, 2 colors of green ribbon and 2 sizes of velvetly flowers from Maya Road.

I love all the shades of green in the same card. It's been so hot here this summer that most of the green is fading away already.

Project Materials:

Cardstock (Bazzill, DCWV); Flowers (Maya Road); Stamps (KETTO, Saying-Stamping Bella; Background design-Hero Arts); Inks (Versafine ink Black; Versamark watermark ink); Coloring (Derwent Inktense); Ribbons (unknown)

Gorjuss Butterflies

These butterflies are TOO sweet. I paired them with a Gorjuss girl in her mustard colored dress.

I love these dimensional velvety looking butterflies that came from a store called A Stamp Artist Place in North Carolina. I have looked them up online, but there doesn't appear to be a way to order from them online. Perhaps someone from the area will see this.

Project Materials:

Cardstock (Bazzill); Butterflies (A Stamp Artist Place); Stamp (Gorjuss Girl-Sugar Nellie); Coloring (Derwent Inktense, Copic E00); Brads (Bazzill); Rubon (Basic Grey)

RAGDOLLS!

I can't believe it, I finally got a copy of the retired TAC (The Angel Company) Ragdolls stamp set. I have been looking for this set for YEARS. On Ebay, stamping groups, trade spots, TAC yahoo groups, random internet searches, you name it. The other night I was just happened to do an ebay search (about the 400th time I have done one) and there it was! An excellent condition set! I couldn't believe it. Now here a week later the set is in my hot little hands.

Here's my first card done with the set. I just love the dolls in this set as wells as all the wonderful sayings. You will definitely see more of this set in the future.

As an aside the secondary goal of this card was to make something that's perfectly flat. I love to put the beautiful flowers, dimensional tape and other such accents, but I have also had problems mailing these cards. I have noticed that the post offices differ in their processing. I have one post office that will run their hand over your card and if they feel the SLIGHTEST bump--you get jacked up to package rate! Another has the post office standard mail slots cut out of plastic and they will simply stick it through the slot, as long as it goes through their test slot, it's considered "flat". I don't know why the standards are so different, but package rate for a card seems ridiculous at $1.22 for the first ounce. So, here's an example of a perfectly flat card that will pass any post office test.

Project Materials:
Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamps (Ragdolls-TAC); Coloring (Stampin' Up watercolor crayons); Edging (Colorbox chalk ink-chestnut Roan)

Miss Attitude

Gorjuss girl "Miss Attitude" wants to keep it real! So here's her card today.

It's sunday so now's time to set up a new vote for the card of the week. The poll is on the right hand column. I have also put a photo of last week's winner.

Project Materials:
Cardstock (Bazzill); Stamp (Gorjuss Girl - Sugar Nellie); Chipboard frame (K&Co); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Making Memories); Vellum Saying (unknown); Watercolors (Derwent Inktense)

Charlotte KETTO

Hello all! I know I am posting this card a little early today! Here's another KETTO girl stamp.

I did this card by taking two compatible shades of Bazzill Orange papers. The top layer I used a Fiskar's punch to create a border on both sides of the paper. Then I used Colorbox Chalk to lightly outline the edge. The stamp is done in Versafine ink with Stampin' Up watercolor crayons. The princess word was a rubon, but I don't know whose. The Charlotte Ketto stamp comes from Stamping Bella.

Have a great Sunday!

Be a Friend

Be a friend. That sounds like a nice sentiment for the day. Little miss Amplee-tude is looking for her other Stampin' Bella pals.

I love this stamp esp because of her lucious looking long hair. I have always had long hair. (Minus a short stint in the Air Force). I love this line of stamps from Stamping Bella. I hope to post more cards using them in the future.

Project Materials:

Cardstock (pink/brown-Bazzill; Mica Gold-California Paper; Printed- DCWV); Stamp (Amplee-tude by Stamping Bella); Flowers (Prima); Brads (Mod); Saying (Sticker); Buttons (unknown); Watercolors (Inktense by Dewent); Blending Pen (Stampin' Up); Adhesives (glue dots -Stampin' Up; Dimensional Tape-EK Success)
