Today's card is dedicated to all the sick people out there. I know I have been seeing lots of emails from people who aren't feeling well, people who are having recent operations and people whose family is hurting too. Well, here's a card for all of you. I HOOOpe you are all feeling better soon!

Mini Cards

Here is a cute set of miniature sized cards using various stamps from Sweet Pea Designs. My family and friends love getting envelopes filled with these sweet and tiny cards.

Some great ways I have seen these little cards used: as a to/from card with a gift; placed in a family member's lunch box for little daytime surprise; as a love note on some one's desk or dresser; as a little pick-me-up for a stressed out co-worker; as a treat to a special student or good worker. Possibilities could be endless for these adorable little treats!

I also make a cute little holder to give them out in. This holder has an opening on the bottom so they can open it and take the cards out without damaging the holder.

Teddy Bear Love

OK, so here's my first card using copic markers. I only did the teddy bear with the markers since I haven't bought any reds yet (the store didn't have ANY reds). I am pretty sure this cute teddy comes from TAC, if you know different, please let me know.

Here's a little info I have learned about Copic Markers....it's can be very intimidating when you are standing in front of a HUGE display of them. They have over 300 colors to choose from. The first time, I bought the wrong ones! Break down the markers like this--They are set up into color families already. The letter on the marker shows it's color family E is earth tones, YR is Yellow-Reds, R is Reds, B is Blues and so on. Futhermore the color families are set up with colors designed to go together so if you want to blend the markers together buy at least 2-3 markers per family.

This example (ok, a rookie example, but I am working on it); The doggie image (Penny Black) to the LEFT is done with 3 colors in the same family; The image to the right is simply colored in.Doesn't the dog on the left look more dimensional? Think of the markers sub-families as being the first TWO digits of the marker name; When blending, these markers would go together: E24, E26, E28; Pick markers that have the SAME first two digits (both "E" and "2") then pick the remaining numbers to be 2-3 apart (the "4", "6" and "8");

Plant some seeds

Here's a cute 6" square card using Hayden of the Gum Drop Gang of Sweet Pea Stamps. The quote reads "All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today -Indian Proverb" How true is that?. Wherever we go we are planting seeds everywhere to produce flowers for tomorrow. I love to think that the cards I make plant seeds (ideas, thoughts, love) in people that will flourish later.

Tomorrow I will post a cute teddy bear card that I did with Copic markers. First real project using mostly markers instead of watercolors. The reason I love watercolors is because I like to blend a lot of colors together in one project. In this card you can see Hayden's hair, I used 2 shades of yellow and 2 shades of brown. Now I want to learn get the same effect using markers.

Froggy Fairy

Have a Fairy Birthday!! This card is decidated to two special family member's whose bdays are soon. My sister who I will get to see tonight and my cousin Sylvia. Happy Bday ladies!!



This cute set has not just a frog fairy, but also an owl, cat, dog, bunny, and penguin too! TOO cute. It comes with all the Fairy accessories like this little mushroom house and fun saying that I turned into the sun.

This cute Gorjuss Girl makes me think of a little honey bee. I love her fluffy dress and fun hairdo. She's so sweet!


I got some copics yesterday, after playing with them and watching tutorials online I think I got all the wrong colors! LOL. Isn't that always the way it goes? well, never one to quit after the first try, I am gonna have to go back and pick out some new colors. Today that will be the task.

These cute little guys are wondering WHOO that is? I guess they haven't seen many caterpillars in their day. This cute stamp comes from Stampavie done by artist Rachelle Anne Miller. She has many cute whimisical animal stamps that are so fun to use.

Been a long day already, after taking packages to the post office, I finally couldn't resist the urge to get some Copic Markers. The store was pretty limited on colors, so I figured I would start with four shades of orange and four shades of brown...can you say...fall and pumpkins? I hope to post a project using them soon.

Sunday Angel

Greetings everyone! Here's the sunday Angel card. I am pretty sure this stamp comes from TAC (The Angel Company), but unsure as it was not marked when I got it. If anyone is sure of that, I would love to hear from you.



I did the coloring on this image while waiting around at the doctor's office this week. I had a long wait but luckily took some images and my color pencils. This image uses several shades of orange and yellow. Time goes by so much quicker when you have something fun to do!

Gorjuss Purple and Green

Well, I figured it was time to get back to the Gorjuss of it all. This little girl says, "thanks for being my friend!" Isn't she cute?

This is something really different for me--purple and green. Two colors I don't use a lot of. I guess it's just harder for me to put these colors together since I am more of a warm color person. I am working on challenging myself to use new color groupings. I see so many wonderful cards everywhere, but when I try to make them myself, I really get stuck.

Tilda and Friend

Tilda has made a new friend today. How sweet. I wish I could hold out my hand and have the cute little birds fly up and sit down on them.


However it seems like I hold out my hand and I all get is a bird pooping on me. For some odd reason, I seem to have a target on my head (or hand). It must be only visible from above because I don't see it. I can think of at least 4 times that this has happened to me. Twice right ON my head. Twice on my arm/hand. I guess I do have a connection with nature, but perhaps not the one I want, lol!

Be Whoo You Are

A little message from the Stamping Bella Owl says "be whoo you are" what a cute little guy! He's also covered in hearts so he could be used for a love occasions. I was thinking about masking out the message on the stamp and inserting my own.


So WHOO are you? I guess that's a good question that we should all ask ourselves at times.
One thing I am is a crafter!! most definitely. I think another sentiment that should follow this is TAKE TIME to be whoo you are. Sometimes I get so caught up in work and such that I don't have time to be myself.

Beautiful in Blue

Hello! Here's a beautiful blue card featuring the dress stamp from Plate #7 from Sweet Pea Stamps. The "Let's Celebrate" sentiment is on plate #9 from Sweet Pea's collection. Makes me want to go put on a fancy dress and go out. This card would be good for any celebration occasion. I love all the shades of blue working together on the same card.

Here's a short Watercolor Tutorial for this card:
Select three complimentary shades of blue watercolor pencils from Derwent--one light, medium, and dark. Take the dress image and color it in the light shade of blue; then use the medium shade of blue and lightly color the areas you want to shade. In this case, I shaded the waistline and the bottom, and very gently on the edge and dress seams. Starting in the lightest area, use your blender pen to color over the penciled area. Allow the image to dry.

Now take a very dark color of blue and color ON TOP of the already colored image. Do so very lightly and carefully as you can not get rid of the color once you have added it. Take the blender and very gently blend the darkest color on top of the other colors. If you look at the dress image, you can see that there are three shades of blue showing (esp. if you look at the skirt area). Once the watercoloring is dried, take a watercolor crayon in grey and outline the entire image. Then use your blender pen to color the image. It's hard to see in the photo, but adding this outline to your image really makes it "pop" off the paper. Good colors for outlining are greys and light blues.

Look What's Sprouting up!

Here's a cute Stamping Bella card with Bella in the center of a flower. "Look what's Sprouting Up." Hard to tell from the pic, but her shirt is actually orange. I think it blends a little too much into the redness of the flower.

What's sprouting up around you lately? Do you even have time to notice? Right now it's so hot here, I doubt there is much sprouting, it's more like wilting here. Take a second to relax and look around. Things are sprouting up all the time, even in the heat of summer.

Super Sweet Tilda!

Here's a brand new Tilda stamp that I just received this week. She's so cute! I love her little hat and bow. The card is a large square size card.


The pink/orange/red paper coordinates perfectly with the colors in her outfit and the cute flowers.

Just a Note

Here's a simple little note from Sakee KETTO. I love the KETTO stamps from Stampin Bella. They are just so sweet!


This card is very simple and sweet. I stamped Sakee and watercolored her. I found this great tag from Basic Grey with some nice sheer ribbons. At the bottom I stamped "Just a note" which is also a Stampin Bella rubber stamp. Does it make you wanna send a message to someone?

Having one of those days????

Having one of those days? LOL, sometimes yes, I am! This little girl reminds me of myself with her frazzled hair and faded shirt; the mismatched clothes and shoes. But in the end, she still has a smile on her face.

That's so me at times. I think I can be so into whatever I am doing I forget about things like, matching shoes and brushing my hair!!! (And those who know me know that I have a LOT of hair. I keep it braided for the most part. Else it would get so hot I wouldn't know what to do!)

The flowers on the tree remind me of a pond in downtown Huntsville, Alabama that was surrounded by beautiful flowering trees. The flowers were all over. I have photos of my husband tossing rocks into the pond, the whole background from the ground to the sky was covered in flowers.

The background card is actually a very dark purple and the angel is resting on a sheer gold color paper. The silver flowers are actually beautiful stickers. Some bling might have gone nice there, but I couldn't find a good dark purple color.

Hugs everyone! Here's a cute project using a new stamp from Stamping Bella. It's a doll from their KETTO line

The background paper is yellow with a layered black paper on top. The coloring on the little doll's dress ranges from orange to dark red, but doesn't seem to show up as clearly in the scan.

Bonus Project

I thought I would put this little guy in as an extra project today. Something about these tear bears just fascinates me. I don't know if it's the innocent big eyes or the fact that they are assembled from so many little parts.

I created this little guy a while back but I still just love the technique. He's assembled from 10 pieces of black heavy mulberry and three pieces of white mulberry. The eyes and nose are made from cardstock. There are all sorts of places on-line that have free tear bear patterns and several places that sell tear bear books and patterns.

Hopefully later I will get to include some tear bears on a project. As for tomorrow, we will get back to rubber stamping :) LMK what you think, this was the first full sized tear bear I made.

Simply Gorjuss

Here's a simple Gorjuss card I made with Sugar Nellie's Gorjuss Girls stamps. I almost never work in green, so I decided to make the outfit on this girl with two shades of green-Ionian green and field green mixed together. I think the color matches perfectly with the fuzzy brads.

The girl is accented with mustard colored accents and an array of brown colors in her hair. I think I like green and brown together. I will try and use this color combination more often!

Here's one of the adorable stamps I rec'd yesterday from Stamping Bella. Her name is GRATTY 'tude. She comes with a saying, but today I picked this saying from Sweet Pea Stamps "I'd pick a whole garden just for you!!!"

Hard to tell from the photo, but the background papers are wonderful thick handmade papers. Beautiful! So, who would you go and pick a garden of flowers for?

CC Designs Fairy Girl

Birds of a Feather HOOT together

Birds of a feather HOOT together. These three friends look like they are ready for some Hooting action. What's there to HOOT about? well I am thinking of going to the free make-n- take specials at my local scrapping store tomorrow (plus they are giving away a pack of free ribbons too).

My DH (John) is going to the American Cheese Festival downtown here in Austin. I would join him but the tickets were $75. That's a bit much for me. I'd rather spend that $ at the scrapping store than on some cheese.

What a blessing you are!

Here's an adorable card using Greeting Farm Lion. This cute card measures only 2.5" wide and is almost 6" tall. It's made of a wonderfully thick handmade paper. I just love unusual card sizes and shapes.

All the items I used for this card are things I acquired in swaps online (except the stamps) including the card and matching envie, the buttons, the sewn borders, the white paper, the glue pen, and the glue dots!

Gorjuss Time

Time for another Gorjuss card. This one was made with Sugar Nellie's Gorjuss Girl stamps. I love the vibrant orange colors and the gold embossing on the background.



The background was actually supposed to be a journaling card. The place where the Gorjuss Girl is covers up the printed lines that would be used for journaling. I turned the journal card sideways. I trimmed the paper so the girl would fit inside the gold dotting. I think the vibrant watercoloring on her dress matches the card perfectly.

Friendship Garden

This cute little guy is called Fluffles. He's made by Stampendous and there's a whole line of stamps just for him. I really like Fluffles. Here's he's making a new friend in the garden.

Communing with Nature

This cute stamp is designed by Leann Ellis. She loves to commune with nature under the flowery trees. The stamp itself also has a branch with flowers and a bird in it, but I removed that portion of the stamped image and instead created my own version of the scene.



How do you like to commune with nature? walk in the park, keep a garden, leave food for the animals? I don't feel like I commune much with nature lately. But if there were a beautiful tree sprouting orange flowers, I would be there!

Sugar and Spice

Sugar and Spice and everything Nice. That's what little girls are made off. I started with the rubon quote for this card because it was all about little girls. I did the card in blues and greens, which are not typically girlie colors.

I think it works though. I am working on expanding my color palette which means using more blues, greens and purples. I like projects that incorporate many shades of the same color into one project. This card uses at least 7 shades of green--2 colors of cardstock, flower, green dots, colored rubon writing, Magnolia's dress color and the green edging;

This little guy looks like he's had enough coffee, but he still wants more, lol! His name is Frozey and he's from the Doodlefactory. First bunny you have seen with this much hair?


Oddly I don't care much for coffee myself. I will drink a diet dr. pepper or some ice tea to get a little caffeine, but I have never had the taste for coffee.

Just Buzzin' By

Buzz. Buzz.....it's my imitation of a bee, well Tilda's imitation anyways. Here's another perfectly flat card for my friends at the post office.

I think the actual name for this stamp is Dragonfly Tilda, but the striped shirt and cute hat just make me think of Bees instead. So I colored her up to be a little bee.

Be the Change you want to see in the World. I love that sentiment. What if we all tried to change to be what we want in the world. I wish I was more open, more friendly and more easygoing.

Whimsy Owl

This owl comes from Whimsy Stamps. Looks like he's had a long day, huh? This company has several adorable animal stamps. This is the first one I have ever owned, it comes mounted on cling foam on a plastic sheet with the image already on it. That's handy.

Frog Prince

This fun stamp comes from the Diane Duda collection of Sugar Nellie Rubber Stamps. She's keeping her frog prince close by. How often does something in life appear to be a frog, but I find out later it was really a prince?

I love the wonderful shimmery cardstock that comes from California paper. It has a wonderful shine to it that is lost in the photo. The cute top layer is actually supposed to be used as a journaling piece. I covered up the lines where the journaling would take place with the princess. I like the gold accenting on the top layer. It looks so rich with the shimmery background.
